A Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) offers more to people than the ability to receive knowledge. It allows people to understand, to study things at their own pace and place, to “dig” as deep as they wish to, and to come up with the right assumptions that will allow them to leverage knowledge.

The recently completed MOOC “Beyond Silicon Valley: Entrepreneurship in Transition Economies – The Greek story” was developed by Professor Michael Goldberg of Case Western Reserve University who delivered the final lecture and meet-up in Athens on June 11th.
What a turnout and lively discussions in the first MOOC meetup in Athens! The Massive Open Online Course “Beyond Silicon Valley: Entrepreneurship in Transitioning Economies” commenced last week, having found an astounding response across Greece. The launch was marked by an energetic meetup on April 30th hosted by the head organizer, ALBA Graduate Business School at the American College in Greece, and welcomed two remarkable guest entrepreneurs, Rebecca Pitsika (People for Business) and Alexandros Trimis (dopios).
