Startup Update: Stories from the North – liateR takes on the global market

Securing follow-up investments, forging new partnerships, and expanding in The Netherlands and Western Europe are just a few of liateR’s accomplishments in the past few months. We caught up with the rapidly growing Greek startup, one of The Accelerator 2014 participants, to find out about its latest ad-ventures.

There are many reasons why a Greek tech company would choose to move to Amsterdam. For liateR, there were three key factors: an amazing opportunity to showcase their product internationally, the commitment of active European investors, and the innovation-thirsty retail market of the Netherlands and Western Europe.

All this, as well as the venturing passion of the founder Antonis Argyros, were the reasons why the team at liateR decided relocate to the Dutch capital with one and only goal: to continue building a thriving global brand.

#Partnerships: Large organizations embrace the power of liateR

With growth being a main objective on its agenda, the team at liateR is now focusing on building fruitful partnerships with select organizations. To that, they partnered with Q&A Research & Consultancy, a leading consultancy partner in the retail industry, and ScreenSupply, a company that delivers the consumer online shopping experience in the store.

As for increasing awareness and securing new customers? liateR will be teaming up with Exterion Media, a leading outdoor media company, and BannerConnect, an advertising technology and service that turns digital media space into powerful one-on-one advertising, to help spread the word about its pioneering product!

By locking down these partnerships, liateR aims to effectively touch on different markets.

#Market: liateR rocks The Store of the Future in The Hague

liateR has been offered a place at The Store of the Future in The Hague. The platform of the Greek startup is now featured in the inspiring retail innovation lab, one of the twelve pillars of the Smart Shopping City program of The Hague. The Store is a unique collaboration of more than sixty retailers, brands, real estate companies, technology companies, financial parties, and other suppliers of retail. Its aim? To showcase how shopping through technology will change in the future and become more fun, interactive, and easy.

#Investment: Building Bridges for Growth

Just recently, liateR completed its bridge investment round of 100K with Dutch and Greek investors. The team has already met its targets and is now working on raising funds that will finance their rapid growth.

We are working hard towards many directions. Securing new customers and partners in the Netherlands and Western Europe was among our priorities these last few months. Progress on this side helped us complete a second investment round. It is important that after The Accelerator by Metavallon we are confident enough to implement our plan. Now, based in Amsterdam and expanding in Europe, we are looking to shape a competitive global business”, said Antonis Argyros, the “Shusa” at liateR.

#Success: Winners of The Digital Gate 2015 competition

Yes, there is more good news coming from the liateR front: just a few days ago, liateR was announced among the winners of The Digital Gate 2015, an innovation competition organized by the Athens International Airport. As a result, liateR will be enjoying technical support by IBM and the Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Last but not least, liateR was one of the chosen startups to be part of the Startupbootcamp E-commerce Program. The bootcamp kicked off on October 12th and ended with a spellbinding presentation on the eagerly awaited Demo Day, on January 22nd.
